Winamp is a freeware or shareware software that can play the shared codec and audio types and can also be customized.
Winamp was first released by Justin Frankel in 1996. Latest Winamp Development praised Ben Allison (benski), Will Fisher, Taber Buhl, Maksim Tyrtyshny, Chris Edwards and Stephen (Tag) Loomis.
In 2005, Winamp grown from 33 million monthly users to over 57 million monthly users, making Winamp the latter is often used to playback media world after the Windows Media Player.
First appeared on 21 April 1997, WinAmp is an application that integrated MP3 file player for Windows. This is a freeware version 0.20a, which only shows the play button, open, stop, and pause.
In May 1997, launched WinAmp 0.92. Winamp version is referred to as classic or Winamp Winamp GUI, rectangular dark gray, with 3D silver buttons, volume slider, green, red, LED light timer in green letters, with trackname, MP3 bitrate and "mixrate" in green anyway, plus the playlist. Winamp 1

Winamp 2
Winamp 2.0 was first released on 8 September 1998. This version improves usability playlist, equalizer more accurate, more plugins, and began to introduce the plugin Skin.

Winamp 3
On October 9, 2001, Nullsoft released an alpha version of Winamp3 dedicated support LINUX operating system. On August 9, 2002, Winamp3 standard version was launched. Written without separation "3" to characterize the MP3 file.
Winamp3 was less successful that many users are returned using Winamp 2. This is because many users find Winamp3 shortcomings, such as loading heavier, less stable, the ability to track the total counting down, skins and plugins of winamp 2 were out of sync.
Finally, Nullsoft Winamp redevelop 2 to version 2.91 in 2003. The beta version of 2.92 and 2.95 then released by incorporating some features of Winamp 5, which will be released later.
Winamp 5
Finally Winamp 5.0 was released in December 2003. Was deliberately no version 4 for winamp. Winamp 5 is based on the Winamp 2 codebase, plus some Winamp3 features, such as a modern skin. Starting version 5.2, winamp also integrates and supports iPod.
In celebration of ten years of winamp already released, it was launched on October 10, 2007 Winamp 5.5. Many new features are included, such as the addition of the album, an integrated player, media library, interface skins. Release also includes support for multiple languages, such as German, Polish, Russian and French. This version no longer supports Windows 9.x
Weaknesses and improvements continue adding new features in this version 5.5. Until last recorded release of Winamp version 5581, developed from 2009 to 2010. Then updated version is longer, the Winamp version 5.63.
